DESTIN, Fla. — West Florida secured a fourth-place finish at the Emerald Coast Classic on Tuesday with a team total of 886 over three rounds. The Argos jumped up three positions in the final round with a 292 (+8) which was their best round score of the tournament.
Millie Thompson led the team with a second place individual finish at even par. Thompson was tied for first following the first round at -2. The senior had four birdies in the opening round. In the final round Thompson had one of the shots of the day when she chipped in for birdie on closing hole No. 4 to move into second place.
Isabela Urruchua posted a strong +1 to contribute to the team's competitive showing. Urruchua's score of 69 (-2) in the final round propelled her 11 spots into a tie for fourth place.
The Argos will play next March 23-25 at the Ozarks National Invitational in Branson, Mo.
