LAKELAND, Fla. — West Florida (12-1) narrowly defeated Florida Southern (11-4) 4-3 on Sunday at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center. West Florida secured the victory with singles wins at the No. 2, No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6 positions after dropping the doubles point.

Sebastian Rondon secured a 6-2 win on No. 1 doubles over George Russell and Onur Turgut, but the Moccasins prevailed at No. 2 doubles, as Bosko Boskovic and Gabriel Jornert edged

Samuel Vidales in a tight 7-6(7-4) contest. The home team clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory on No. 3 doubles by Mario Garoz and Edoardo Melindo against Rafael Sablo and
Goncalo Quintela.

Vicente Couto at No. 3 singles, who delivered a 6-2, 6-3 win over George Russell. Sablo increased the visitors' tally with a straight-sets victory, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 5 singles against 39th ranked Mar Antonio Morales. Florida Southern leveled the match momentarily with Marco Cinotti's 6-2, 7-5 win over Neyelov at No. 4 singles.
West Florida regained momentum with #2 Duran's comeback at No. 2 singles, overcoming Matthew Hewitt 4-6, 6-1, 6-0. #5 Rondon faced a tough challenge at No. 1 singles, falling to 16th ranked Garoz in a three-set battle, 6-3, 2-6, 3-6. The match was sealed for West Florida on No. 6 singles when Quintela secured a hard-fought 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 victory over Boskovic, concluding the competition with a decisive point.
