COLUMBUS, Ga. – UWF women's golf team used a consistent three rounds of golf at the Lady Cougar Classic to tie for first overall out of 12 teams.
The Argos pulled ahead in the second round, finishing with a team score of 913 (+46). The Argos held strong throughout the three rounds battling with Carson-Newman who tied for first in the tournament with UWF.
In the last round, the Argos were down four with one hole to play. The team turned in 2 under par.
Lauren Patterson and Samanthat Schultz both birdied the last holes while Carson-Newman finished two over. The Argos cut an eight shot deficit with just three holes to play.
Senior
Millie Thompson led the Argos tieing for first to win the tournament individually with an overall score of 244 and +8.
Isabela Urruchua finished 14 over to also lead the Argos to a tournament win.
UWF will be back on the course for the Gulf South Conference Championship on Monday, April 20th at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson,Tenn.
