Baseball To Host South Region As No. 1 Seed

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - University of West Florida baseball will host the NCAA DII South Regional as the No. 1 seed in the South Region, announced during the NCAA selection show on Sunday night.

West Florida will face No. 8 Edward Waters at Jim Spooner Field in their first game of the regional at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 14. 

UWF finished the regular season with a 35-13 record. The Argos advanced to the GSC Tournament and took home their fifth Gulf South Conference Championship, defeating Delta State.

Regional Championship play will begin on May 14 at Jim Spooner Field as the Argos host No. 4 Delta State, No. 5 Lee and No. 8 Edward Waters. 

The winner of the UWF and Edward Waters  game will face the winner of the Delta State and Lee game.

In the other half of the South Region bracket it was Tampa earning the No. 2 seed. Also making the tournament was No. 3 Rollins, No. 6 West Alabama and No. 7 Trevecca Nazarene.
