CLEVELAND, Ohio – UWF athletics finished 12th in the final Division II Learfield Directors' Cup standings, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics announced on Tuesday.
The Argos totaled 613.00 points across the 2025-26 athletic year, finishing as the highest-ranked Gulf South Conference institution in the national standings. The Argonauts accumulated 305.00 points during the spring season, 105.00 points during the winter season and 203.00 points during the fall season.
The Learfield Directors' Cup recognizes overall athletic department success based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships. In Division II, 15 total sports are counted in the final standings, including four required sports: women's volleyball, women's basketball, men's basketball and baseball. The next highest 11 sport totals are then added to determine each institution's final score.
West Florida's strong spring helped push the Argonauts into the top 15 nationally. UWF scored points in baseball, men's golf, women's golf, softball, men's tennis and women's tennis, highlighted by 83 points from men's tennis after a third-place national finish. The Argonauts also received 67.5 points from men's golf, 64 from baseball, 50 from softball, 25 from women's tennis and 16 from women's golf.
UWF was one of two GSC programs to finish inside the top 15, joining Lee, which finished 15th with 569.00 points. Alabama Huntsville also finished inside the top 50, placing 41st with 417.50 points.
Grand Valley State won the Division II Learfield Directors' Cup with 1,089.75 points, followed by Wingate, Indianapolis, West Texas A&M and Minnesota State in the top five.
