PENSACOLA, Fla. – UWF head women's golf coach Kristen Dorsey has announced the signing of the final additions to the 2026-2027 roster for this season.
Mariana Arrote | JR
Arrote comes to West Florida following two seasons at Old Dominion University and a standout prep career at Colegio Las Hayas in Xalapa, Mexico. In Arrote's sophomore season she owned a 77.78 stroke average through 10 events and 27 rounds played. Her best finish in the fall was at the Tot Hill Farm invitational, where she tied for 17th with seven-over par 151. Arrote recorded a three-over par 219 to place ninth at the Sun Belt Championship. Entering the final round of stroke play tied for 12th, she moved up three spots with one-over 73 for her final 18 holes at Lakewood Golf Club. During Arrote's freshman season she played 20 rounds in 10 events with a 77.14 stroke average. She scored a 69 for her best round of the season at Princess Anne Country Club. Prior to her collegiate career Arrote had many standout performances including multiple Top-5 finishes. She won the Texas Junior Golf Tour's Spring Break Championship after carding a two-over par 146. She also placed third at the Campeonato Nacional Edicion Internacional.

Melanie Maier | JR
Maier comes to West Florida following two seasons at Saint Mary's College of Notre Dame and a standout prep career in Richmond, Texas. In Maier's sophomore season she competed in 21 rounds, posting 17 rounds in the 70s while scoring in the 70s in seven straight rounds in the spring finishing the year with a 77.42 scoring average, the lowest on the team. Maier was named All-MIAA First Team, MIAA Athlete of the Week, and CSC Academic All-District. As a Freshman, Maier competed in 17 rounds with a season-low of 73 at the MIAA Jamboree and the WashU Spring Invite. Maier was the two-time individual winner at the MIAA Jamborees in Holland, MI and Tecumseh MI. She was named MIAA Most Valuable Golfer, First Team All-MIAA honoree, Two-time MIAA Athlete of the Week, and part of the 2025 NCAA Tournament lineup. Prior to her collegiate career Maier was named 2022 Individual District Champion, 2x Regional Qualifier, and 6A State Qualifier.

Coach Dorsey made me feel incredibly welcomed and I loved the team camaraderie. I saw that UWF is a great environment for me to grow not only in my golf game, but as a person as well. I want to have a lasting impact on the people around me and help build a culture that lingers well after I'm gone."
Neige Dunn | SR
Dunn comes to West Florida following three seasons at Metropolitan University of Denver and a prep career in Alberta, Canada. In Dunn's Junior season she competed in 20.5 rounds, posting three top-five and six top-ten wins. During Dunn's Sophomore season she played a total of 20 rounds with an average score of 80.50. In her Freshman season Dunn was ranked fourth on the team with an 81.4 scoring average over 25 rounds with one top-five finish. Prior to her collegiate career, Dunn was named Most Valuable Mountaineer Award for the Edge Golf program.
"I'm excited to continue my education while competing with an amazing team and coaching staff while living in a completely new environment and making the most of every opportunity! Coach Dorsey and the team made me feel welcomed right away. I knew it was the right place where I could grow both on and off the course! My goal is to keep growing as a person and an athlete while putting in the work every day, and taking another step towards playing professional while finishing my degree."
Katie Hallmark | JR
Hallmark comes to West Florida following two seasons at Shelton State Community College and a prep career in Spanish Fort, Alabama. In Dunn's Freshman season she was nationally ranked 10 with a scoring average of 80.8 in 23 rounds. She posted one overall win, and one top-three. In Hallmark's Sophomore season, she played 26 rounds with a 77.2 scoring average. She posted one overall win and five top-three finishes. Hallmark also helped lead the team to two back-to-back national championships in both of her years at Shelton State.
"I am most excited to start a new chapter in my life with so many great people! A huge factor for me choosing UWF was the family like environment on the team. The main goal I have is to become a better version of myself, not only through golf and academics, but me as a person!"
