No. 2 West Florida men's tennis sweeps Florida Southern 9-0

Argonauts improve to 9-0 in matches against south region opponents

Pablo Borrero and Pablo Tellez win 13th consecutive doubles match on Saturday.

PENSACOLA, Fla. –
The No. 2-ranked University of West Florida men's tennis team swept Florida Southern at home on Saturday afternoon at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex. West Florida (16-1, 6-0 GSC) improves to 9-0 in matches against south region opponents.
 
West Florida's No. 1-ranked doubles team of junior Warren Kuhn (Johannesburg, South Africa) and senior Elio Latella (Sydney, Australia) won at number one doubles by a score of 8-2.
 
Junior Kenny Brasil (Apucarana, Brazil) and sophomore Alex Peyrot (Castelnaudary, France) won 8-2 at number two doubles while junior Pablo Borrero (Pereira, Colombia) and sophomore Pablo Tellez (Bogota, Columbia/Colegio) won their 13th consecutive match at number three doubles by a score of 8-5.
 
No. 25 Kuhn won at number one singles 6-3, 6-4 while No. 31 Brasil won at number two singles 6-3, 6-3.
 
Junior Juan Pablo Boada (La Paz, Bolivia) won 6-0, 6-3 at number three singles while redshirt freshman Sebastian Sanchez (Bogota, Colombia) won 6-1, 6-0 at number four singles.
 
Tellez won 6-2, 6-3 at number five singles while junior Richard Hornby (Christchurch, New Zealand) won 6-2, 6-1 at number six singles.
 
West Florida will wrap up the weekend by facing Delta State on Sunday, March 29 at 9 a.m. CT before facing Christian Brothers later that day at 1 p.m. CT.
