Warren continues success in professional league in Japan

Former Argo Reggie Warren named to Best Five Team in Japan League

TOKYO, Japan – Former University of West Florida men's basketball student-athlete Reggie Warren continued his success playing professional basketball in Japan. Warren was selected to the Best Five Team in the Basketball Japan League (BJ-League) for the second consecutive season and third time in his career.
 
Warren is the first player in league history to be selected to the Best Five Team with three different franchises. He previously earned the honor in 2007-08 with the Takamatsu Five Arrows and in 2013-14 with the Rizing Fukuoka.
 
Warren spent the 2014-15 season playing for Kyoto Hannaryz and led them to a Western Conference first place finish with a 47-10 record. He led Kyoto in points per game (13.4) and rebounds (8.4) while also averaging two assists per game. Warren also led the team with 14 double-doubles during the regular season.
 
Warren played one season at West Florida in 2002-03, and led the team in points per game (18.4), rebounds per game (8.5), and minutes per game (30.1). He also was a key passer on the team and finished second on the team in assists with 74.
 
Warren was named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Year and was a NABC All-America Honorable Mention in 2002-03.
 
The Basketball Japan League is a professional basketball league that was founded in 2005 and is comprised of 21 teams divided into two conferences. The Best Five Team is the equivalent to an All-League honor and is voted on by players and coaches in the league.
