Elliott leads Chattanooga FC to win in NPSL National Semifinal

UWF men’s soccer head coach leads CFC to berth in National Premier Soccer League National Championship

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – University of West Florida men's soccer head coach Bill Elliott led Chattanooga FC to a 3-0 win over the Indiana Fire in the National Premier Soccer League National Semifinal on Saturday, August 1. Elliott and CFC will now host the New York Cosmos B in the NPSL National Championship game on Saturday, August 8 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Finley Stadium.

This is the third time in Elliott's four seasons as head coach that he has led Chattanooga FC to the NPSL National Championship game. Elliot led CFC to national championship appearances in his first season in 2012 and in 2014.

"I think this win speaks volumes to the commitment of our organization," Elliott said. "Not only are we in a position to be back in the national championship game for a third time, but we are able to host the game at Finley Stadium. We broke the NPSL attendance record at last weekend's semifinal match and the league and our organization are looking to break that attendance record again on Saturday."

Chattanooga FC fans set a NPSL attendance record of 9,236 on Saturday night in the semifinal match.

Elliott recently led Chattanooga FC to the team's second straight National Premier Soccer League Regional Championship with a 3-2 victory over Myrtle Beach on July 25.

Chattanooga FC has had immense success with Elliott at the helm over the past four seasons. The team has won four consecutive NPSL Southeast Conference Championships, back-to-back NPSL South Region Championships and now three NPSL National Championship appearances. Elliott was also named the NPSL National Coach of the Year in 2014.

The five-time Gulf South Conference Coach of the Year will enter his 21st season as the head coach for the West Florida men's soccer program this fall. A trio of former West Florida men's soccer student-athletes are on the Chattanooga FC roster, including CFC team captain James Moore, Matt Aldred and Stephan Hohn.

Chattanooga FC will face the New York Cosmos B in the NPSL National Championship game on Saturday, August 8 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Finley Stadium.
