FLORENCE, Ala. – The No. 4-ranked University of West Florida men's tennis team defeated No. 36 North Alabama 8-1 on the road Saturday afternoon en route to the team's third straight win over a nationally ranked opponent. West Florida (3-0, 2-0 GSC) swept the doubles competition and took five of the six singles matches to earn its second straight conference win over the season.
 
The No. 5-ranked doubles team of senior Kenny Brasil (Apucarana, Brazil) and junior Alex Peyrot (Castelnaudary, France) improved to 3-0 on the year with an 8-5 win over Guillaume Dechoz and Benjamin Poire at number one doubles.
 
Junior Pedro Roese (Novo Hamburgo, Brazil) and senior Juan Pablo Boada (La Paz, Bolivia) won 8-6 over Brendon Millington-Herrmann and Miguel Garcia at number two doubles.
 
Sophomore Sebastian Sanchez (Bogota, Colombia) and senior Pablo Borrero (Pereira, Colombia) improved to 2-0 on the year with a 8-5 win over Max Druppel and Taylor Ausbon at number three doubles.
 
No. 11 Peyrot improved to 3-0 on the year in singles play with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Dechoz at number one singles. Boada defeated Poire 2-6, 2-0 (ret.) at number three singles while Sanchez got a 6-4, 6-1 win at number four singles over Garcia.
 
Borrero rebounded after a first-set loss to defeat Druppel 3-6, 7-6, 10-4 at number five singles while Roese defeated Ausbon 6-4, 7-5 at number six singles.
 
No. 22 Brasil fell to Millington-Herrmann 4-6, 6-4, 8-10 at number two singles.
 
West Florida will wrap up the weekend tomorrow in Huntsville, Alabama, with a match against Alabama Huntsville at 1 p.m.
