BOX SCORE PENSACOLA, Fla. – The No. 4-ranked University of West Florida men's tennis team defeated No. 8 Valdosta State 5-4 at home on Friday afternoon. West Florida (12-3, 6-0 GSC) remains unbeaten in the Gulf South Conference and improves to 9-1 in matches against south region opponents. UWF extends its winning streak against GSC opponents to 46 with the win.
The No. 3-ranked doubles team of senior
Kenny Brasil (Apucarana, Brazil) and junior
Alex Peyrot (Castelnaudary, France) improved to 12-3 on the year by defeating Gereon Heitmann and Niklas Herbring 8-4 at number one doubles. Brasil and Peyrot are now 12-3 on the year for UWF.

Juan Pablo Boada (La Paz, Bolivia) and junior
Pedro Roese (Novo Hamburgo, Brazil) earned their first win over a nationally ranked opponent by defeating VSU's No. 9-ranked doubles team of Leo Blay and Xavier Pineda 8-5 at number two doubles.
Senior
Pablo Borrero (Pereira, Colombia) and junior
Pablo Tellez (Bogota, Columbia) remained undefeated and improved to 8-0 on the year by defeating Jordi Mas and Fernando Rivas 8-5 at number three doubles.
No. 37 Brasil improved to 10-3 on the year with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Rivas at number three singles while Borrero clinched the match at number four singles with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win over Mas.
No. 7 Peyrot dropped to 2-2 on the year against nationally ranked opponents with a 6-3, 5-7, 5-7 loss to No. 8 Blay at number one singles.
Roese fell to Herbring 6-7, 0-6 at number five singles. No. 36 Boada fell to Heitmann 2-6, 2-6 at number two singles while junior
Douglas Boe (Vinhedo, Brazil) fell to Pineda 2-6, 2-6 at number six singles.
West Florida will continue Gulf South Conference play at home Friday, April 1 against Delta State at 10 a.m.
