Alex Peyrot continued to pick off top competition Sunday, defeating the top-ranked NAIA duo in a dual match at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex.

The Argonaut pair improved to 16-3 on the year with an 8-5 win over Georgia Gwinnett's top two players in Kevin Konfederak and Jordan Cox.

In the overall match, No. 4-ranked UWF squad fell to GGC – the top-ranked team at the NAIA level – 5-2 to conclude the regular-season. UWF will now turn its attention next week's Gulf South Conference Championship in Montgomery, Ala. where the team is the No. 1 seed after a 10-0 league mark. The Argos will face No. 8 seed Alabama Huntsville in Thursday's first round at 9 a.m.

On Sunday, the Grizzlies grabbed the first point in the match with a win at No. 2 doubles. The Argos tied it with the Brasil/Peyrot victory before grabbing the lead in dramatic fashion in the final match.

At the No. 3 match, GGC's Lachlan McPhee and Luke Morland held a 6-5 lead over UWF's
Pablo Borrero and
Pablo Tellez, before the Argos stormed back to win the final three games for an 8-6 win. It also allowed Borrero and Telez to remain perfect in pairs, improving to 13-0 on the season.

Unfortunately for the Argonauts, the singles matches did not fall their way as Georgia Gwinnett clinched the match with victories at Nos. 2, 4, 5 and 6.
