FIGUEROA NAMED GSC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
  • After hitting .538 with three home runs and nine RBI in last weekend's series against Christian Brothers, Jean Figueroa was named Gulf South Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday… It is the fourth conference weekly award for the Argonauts this season… In Game 2 of last Friday's doubleheader, Figueroa became the first 2016 Argo to hit multiple home runs in the same game.

  • Jarrod Petree, who was an All-GSC starting pitcher last season, has made a seamless transition to the Argonaut bullpen, owning a 0.99 ERA over 27.1 innings pitched… Petree has been a specialist in getting the Argos out of jams, as the redshirt junior has inherited 12 runners this season and has left them all stranded… Petree also owns a team-best 0.84 WHIP.

  • Kyle Hamner rides the fourth longest hitting streak in program history, having an 18-game streak heading into this game's series… Alex Greene, who owned a 14 game streak earlier this year, currently has a 12-game hitting streak in road games this season… Jean Figueroa also rides an 18-game hitting streak, with his being recorded in conference-only action.
