ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The sixth-ranked UWF men's golf team had three players in the top seven and posted consecutive rounds of 6-under par to grab an eight shot lead after 36 holes in the Jay Jennison Cup at the Slammer and Squire Course at the World Golf Village Monday.
 
The Argonauts lead the 17-team field with a 564 score – 12-under-par – and only had to count one round over par in the first two rounds of the 2016-17 season. Barry is second at 572, followed by Newberry at 575, Belmont Abbey at 576 and Keiser at 577 to round out the top five. UWF won this event last year with a tourney record 852 in its first-ever appearance. 

Sophomore Jacob Huizinga finished the day in fourth place at 140 after firing rounds of 71 and 69, placing him three shots behind tourney leader Nick Stafford of Belmont Abbey.
 
Juniors Chandler Blanchet and Henry Westmoreland IV are tied for seventh after turning in matching 141s. Blanchet was a stroke out of the first round lead with a 69 before adding a 71 n the afternoon. Westmoreland rebounded from a 73 in the morning to post one of the eight 68s among the 89-player field.
 
Sophomores Christian Bosso and Bryce Geraghty are each tied for 24th at 145. Bosso had rounds of 70 and 75, while Geraghty signed for a 72 and 73.
 
UWF will be paired with Barry and Newberry in Tuesday's final round. Those groups will begin off No. 1 at 9:15 a.m. Eastern time.
