MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The No. 1 ranked UWF men's tennis team registered a 5-0 win over Mississippi College Friday at the Lagoon Park Tennis Complex to earn a spot in the finals of the Gulf South Conference Tournament.

UWF (25-1) won its 19th-consecutive match and its 16th without dropping a match. MC saw its season end with a 11-10.

The Argonauts will face rival Valdosta State (15-4) in Saturday's contest, which will begin at 10 a.m. The teams have combined to win the last 23 league titles, with the Argos winning 12 and the Blazers winning 11 since 2005 - UWFs first season in the GSC.

On Friday, UWF earned 8-4 wins in all three doubles matches to move out to a 3-0 lead. The Argos made it 4-0 with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles from

Serdar Bojadjiev punched the ticket into the finals with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at No. 4.
