PENSACOLA, Fla. – The 17th-ranked University of West Florida softball team will host Spring Hill in a single game at 4 pm on Wednesday at the UWF Softball Complex, following a 2-1 weekend against Auburn Montgomery.
West Florida will be celebrating Little League Night on Wednesday, and there will be a postgame autograph session with the UWF softball team.

About the Badgers
* Spring Hill enters the doubleheader with an 23-13 record and a near-perfect 18-1 mark in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play after sweeping Lemoyne-Owen at home. The Badgers have won five games in a row, with wins over Miles and Lemoyne-Owen, but had lost five in a row against Miles, West Alabama and North Alabama.
* Delaney Thomas leads Spring Hill in batting (.408), hits (42), doubles (14), walks (19), RBIs (30) and on-base percentage (.492), while Brooke Vosloh leads the team with 40 runs scored, 24 stolen bases and 3 home runs.
* Hannah Brenton has been the primary arm for SHC in the circle, throwing 52.2 innings with a 1.59 ERA and six wins. She has struck out 27 batters and has held opponents to a .228 average, and her first two complete games of the year were in wins against Shorter and Lee at the Gulf Coast Invitational in early February.
* West Florida is 10-4 all-time against Spring Hill and shut out the Badgers 17-0 in three games between Pensacola and Mobile last year. UWF has won seven games in a row against SHC.
Maloney in Relief

Sarah Maloney made her first relief appearance of the year against Lee on April 8 and has been outstanding for the Argonauts in her three relief appearances this year. Over 11.2 innings in relief this year, Maloney has struck out 20 batters, allowed 5 hits, walked only 3 batters and has posted a 0.60 ERA.
* Maloney's pitching appearance on Sunday against AUM was as dominant a showing as she has had this year, striking out seven batters over just 2.2 innings.
* Over 53 relief innings since the 2016 season, Maloney has posted a 5-1 record over 24 apperances with a 2.11 ERA and 54 strikeouts.
Last Time Against SHC
* UWF took wins of 5-0 and 6-2, while outscoring SHC 11-2 in the March 7 doubleheader.

Rachel Wright led all players in the doubleheader with three runs scored, two RBIs, six total bases, a 1.000 slugging percentage, and three hits, all of which were doubles. It was another strong all-around day for the West Florida offense, which hit .323 and had 10 hits in each game.
Ashley McNally led all players by getting on base four times on the afternoon, doing so in the first game by picking up a hit, drawing a walk, and getting hit by two pitches.
* The pitching staff did not slack either, with UWF posting a 1.00 ERA across 14 innings with 13 strikeouts and a .149 opponent batting average.
Sarah Maloney and
Tori Perkins each went five innings in their starts, before
Olivia Printiss and
Grace Gilbert finished each respective game off with two innings and three strikeouts apiece.
* When SHC scored two runs in the final inning of the doubleheader on Wednesday, West Florida wrapped up a streak of 37 consecutive scoreless innings against the Badgers, dating back to a single game on April 6, 2016, that UWF won 9-2.
Down the Stretch
* West Florida has a tough slate ahead over the final two weeks of regular-season play. Montevallo and Valdosta State, which have combined for a 34-18 record in conference play and a 59-21 overall mark, are on the docket for UWF, and the Argonauts will also host Spring Hill and visit Florida Southern in Tallahassee for a neutral-site doubleheader on April 24. Overall, the competition has a 105-52 record, good for a .669 winning percentage.
* The Argonauts were outstanding in April 2016 and 2017, going a combined 27-8.
Rachel Wright has hit .369 in April in her two years, with eight doubles, six home runs and 34 RBIs. Likewise,
Sarah Maloney has thrown extremely well in April over the last two seasons, pitching 42.2 innings and posting a 2.32 ERA with 32 strikeouts.
