West Florida Tennis Travel for a 3-Match Weekend in Three States

Argos set to face AUM, Lee, and Shorter this weekend on the road

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The UWF men's and women's tennis teams will be on the road for a 3-match weekend in three different states. The Argos will be first traveling to Montgomery, Ala. on Friday to face off against Auburn Montgomery, followed by a four hour journey to Cleveland, Tenn. to play Lee on Saturday morning, and then closing the weekend with a quick trip to Rome, GA. on Sunday to wrap up the matches against Shorter.

he No.4 UWF Men's team enter the weekend undefeated early in the season 2-0, while the No.8 UWF Women's team will enter the weekend split 1-1. The two teams will set off Friday, February 22nd in the morning at 7:30 am to head to Montgomery, Ala. for their first match at 1:00 pm.

AUM Men's team is also undefeated in the season so far, 3-0 and will be a good battle between the two teams. AUM Women's team is 2-1 with only one loss like the Argos.

On Saturday, the Argos will travel north to Cleveland, Tenn. to play The Lee Flames at 10:00 am on Saturday February, 23rd. Both teams for Lee are undefeated 3-0.

West Florida's final match of the weekend will be on Sunday February, 24th in Rome, GA. against Shorter at 9:00 am. Shorter's Men's team is currently 2-3 overall on the season while their women's team is 2-4 on the season. Shorter will play one match on the Saturday against Gadsden State Community College and Wallace State before the Argos get there on Sunday.

UWF's Men's Tennis team has one doubles team that is currently nationally ranked which consists of Serdar Bojadjiev and Lucas Sanchez as they sit at No.9 in the Oracle/ITA Division II Men's National Doubles Rankings. In singles, Serdar Bojadjiev still is No.8 nationally and Juan Motta is No.34.

The Argos women's tennis team has one doubles team nationally ranked which is partners Berta Bonardi and Karolina Silwanowicz who are No.20. In singles, Berta Bonardi is No.1 in the nation and Karolina Silwanowicz is No.29.

The next Oracle/ITA Division II Men's and Women's team and individual rankings will be next month.
