MONTGOMERY, Ala.- The No. 4 UWF Men's Tennis (3-0, 2-0) outplayed Auburn University at Montgomery (3-1, 0-1) 6-1 at the Warhawks Gulf South Conference opener at AUM Tennis Complex.
The Argos still are undefeated in this early part of season and are hoping to continue this streak.
In this match, the order of finish was Doubles (3,2); Singles (3,2,5,4,1,6). The No.1 doubles match with Eban Straker-Meads and Alvaro Terron (AUMM) vs. Sedar Bojadjiev and Pedro Cordeiro was at 4-3 with AUM leading, but the match was left unfinished with the No.3 doubles team Juan Cabrera and Gerardo Irarrazabal and the No.2 doubles Igor Cantanhede and Vitinho Galvao coming in to clinch the doubles play.
In singles, Juan Cabrera came out with the first win in the play 6-1, 6-0. This was followed by an AUM point where Gerardo Irarrazabal had a hard loss 6-1, 6-3. Robin Rafaitin defeated Santiago Veglia of AUM for the clinching point for the Argos 6-4, 6-4.
The Argos will continue their road trip tomorrow when they head four hours north to Cleveland, Tenn. to face Lee at 10:00 am.
