PENSACOLA, Fla.- Â The No. 4 UWF Men's Tennis team lost their match against the No. 2 Columbus State Cougars 4-1 at home.
The Argos are now 8-4 on the season and still are 4-1 in conference.
Doubles is where the action started with No. 1 and No. 2 doubles finishing at just about the same time with partners Serdar Bojadjiev and Vitinho Galvao winning 6-3 at the No. 1 position and Pedro Cordeiro and Igor Cantanheoe losing 6-4 at No. 2.
The third match was partners Juan Cabrera and Lucas Sanchez as they battled against Fabien Asdrubal and Arnold Kokulewski of CSU in a match that ended with the Argos on top 7-6 and to lead the match 1-0.
Singles play is where the Argos ended up falling short. No. 25 Alvaro Regalado of CSU defeated Lucas Sanchez, 6-0, 6-2 and followed by him was No. 27 Zach Whaanga defeated No. 8 Serdar Bojadjiev, 7-5, 6-2 at the No. 2 position.
The Argos then lost at No. 6 and No. 4 and then clinching the match for the Cougars, 4-1.
No. 4 West Florida Tennis will be home for the rest of the week and next week as well as tomorrow the Argos will face Georgia College at 9:00 am CT and on Saturday, March 23, the Argos will host St. Mary's at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex.
