ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - The No. 7 ranked UWF men's tennis team will continue its run towards its fifth NCAA Championship this week when the Argos open play in the round of 16 against Cameron on Tuesday at 12:00 am Eastern time in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

The Argos are coming into this tournament ranked No. 7 in the latest Oracle/ITA National DII rankings. West Florida is led by Serdar Bojadjiev who is ranked No. 5 in singles, followed by Juan Motta at No. 41 and Juan Cabrera at No. 74. Doubles play for West Florida is also strong with doubles duo Serdar Bojadjiev and Vitinho Galvao ranked No. 25 in the latest rankings after being previously ranked No. 46 the week before.

No. 13 Cameron University, who enter the tournament as the eight seed, found their way to Altamonte Springs, Fla. by beating St. Edwards 4-0 in the South Central Regional 2 last week. They enter the tournament with a 19-4 record. This season the Argos have faced the Aggies only once in San Antonio, Texas. Cameron was ranked No. 24 at the time while the Argos were ranked No. 8. The Aggies came out and won that match 4-1.

All four West Florida NCAA Championship titles – 2004, 2005, 2014, and 2017 – came when the championship was played at Sanlando Park. The Argonauts are 19-2 all-time at the facility, which has hosted the event nine times and 9-4 in the finals.

Should the Argos defeat CU, they would go on to face the winning of the Barry/Southern Arkansas match. Barry is the tournament's No. 1 overall seed, while the Muleriders are the 16 seed. That match would be Wednesday at 3 p.m. (CT).

The Argos are now on their way into the round of 16 in the NCAA DII Championships in Altamonte Springs, Fla. 2017 was the last time the Argos were in the NCAA DII Championship tournament where they won their fourth National Championship Title with a 5-2 win over Barry.
