Men's Tennis comes home to face top opponents

Will face Saint Leo on Saturday and Texas Tyler on Sunday

PENSACOLA, Fla.- Following a tough outcome at the ITA Team Indoor Championships, the UWF men's tennis is looking to get back on track as they return home to face Saint Leo and Texas Tyler on March 7th and March 8th at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex at the University of West Florida.

The third ranked Argonaut men are coming into the match-ups with a 7-3 overall and 4-0 in the GSC, which includes a recent run in the inagural ITA Team Indoor Championships in Oklahoma City.  Although the team finished 1-2 at the tournament, senior Serdar Bojadjiev and freshman Adam Svensson were named GSC Player and Freshman of the Week for their play.  Bojadjiev went 3-0 in singles play, including wins over two top 50 ranked players while Svensson went 1-0 in singles action.  Both players teamed up as a doubles pairing to take the eighth ranked duo in the nation, Alejandro Ibanez and Carlos Gomez from Barry, as well.

Scouting the Opponents: Texas Tyler approaches the match with a current record of 1-6 with their lone win against GSC foe, Alabama Huntsville.  This weekend, the Patriots will rely on seniors, Ford Cunningham, Gabriel Hidalgo and Daniel Rodriguez.

Saint Leo, the fifth ranked team in the country, comes into the match at 5-1, which includes a 2-1 record in last weekend's ITA indoor tournament as they defeated Flagler and fourth ranked Wingate.  The Lions will look to their top 3 players ranked inside the top 50 ITA singles rankings in Aurel Ciocanu, Bruno Faletto and Ghali Mensour, to lead them.
