DAVIE, Fla. - UWF junior
Felipe Garces posted a final-round 68 to finish in tenth place at the Shark Invitational lon Tuesday. The Argonauts took fifth at the end of the 54-hole event.
For Garces, he turned in a 2-day score of 75-68-68=211 to lead the UWF players. He has played three of his last five rounds at par or better. He birdied the final three holes on Tuesday to finish the 54-hole event with 12.
Elias Haavisto tied for 15th overall at even par, two shots behind Garces at 74-68-71=213. He played the par 4s and par 5s at 4-under for the week.
Carlos Marrero tied for 26th position with a 77-66-73=216 score.
Cameron Bonner was 39th at 73-75-72=220 and Patrick Pate was tied for 43rd at 73-74-74=221.
The Argonauts shot rounds of 295-276-284 for a 855. Barry won the event with an 839 total.Lynn was second at 845, Keiser was third at 847 and Florida Southern was just ahead of UWF at 852.
UWF will return to play in two weeks when it hosts the Copperhead Championship at Innisbrook Resort, Oct. 18-19.
