Jackson Tenn. --- In process of an exceptional season with 52 points for 21 goals and 10 assists, the senior
Blair Cowan, has earned D2CCA South Region Player of the Year.

The Hillard, Ohio native has scored eight game-winning goals and averages 3.76 shots per game.

Cowan found the back of the net 19 times in regular season and has scored in the first and second round of NCAA – both were game-winning goals in a 1-0 win over Lee (Nov. 10) and a 2-1 match against Nova Southeastern (Nov. 12).

Cowan has achieved three hat tricks and three two-goal games and has earned points in 14 of the 21 games.

The last time an Argo player earned the award was in 2016.

D2CCA All-South Region First Team
Voted on by the sports communicators in the south region, four Argos earned First Team All-South Region. On Oct. 28, the all players were also named Gulf South Conference First-Team –
Blair Cowan,
Maciah Lipsey, Manamii Okada and
Kileigh Whited.

Blair Cowan, Forward, Senior:
In her senior season, Cowan has been named United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Week (Oct. 5) after hitting back-to-back hat tricks, All-GSC First Team, GSC Offensive Player of the Year, along with her newly honors of All-South Region First Team and D2CCA South Region Player of the Year. Cowan was named All-South Region Second Team in 2021.

Maciah Lipsey, Goalkeeper, Graduate Student:
Lipsey has the fourth best goals allowed average in Division II (0.435) and has only allowed eight goals in (top-10 for least goals allowed in DII). In 21 consecutive starts and 1657 minutes played, the first-year Argo has tallied 39 saves for a 0.830 save percentage. After earning GSC Defensive Player of the Year and All-GSC First Team honor, Lipsey is also awarded with All-South Region First Team.

Manami Okada, Midfielder, Redshirt Junior:
Transfer from North Texas has been honored with All-South Region First Team in her first season at UWF. Also earning All-GSC First Team last month, the midfielder continues to be a key player. Tallying 1671 minutes (third ranked at UWF), Okada has earned 14 points in 21 starts with five goals and four assists.

Kileigh Whited, Defender, Graduate Student:
The only UWF player over 1800 minutes played has earned All-South Region First Team on top of being honored with All-GSC First Team in October. The defender has two goals and seven assists. Joining the program in 2020, the fifth-year student is a key part of the teams defense to limit eight goals allowed and be a standout player in the offensive attack.
