VALDOSTA, Ga. – Led by strong performances from Elias Haavisto and Cameron Bonner, the 11th-ranked UWF men's golf team finished seventh in the Southeastern Collegiate at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club Tuesday.
 
The Argonauts compiled an 873 54-hole score on the course that will host the NCAA South/Southeast Regional in early May. They were 12 shots back of tournament winner Lincoln Memorial at 861. Columbus State was second at 862 and Lee was third at 865.
 
Haavisto was three shots off the lead with seven holes remaining before three bogeys dropped him to 11th with a 73-68-74=215 score. He has finished in the top 15 in all seven events this season.
 
Similarly, Bonner was charging into the top five following birdies on Nos. 12 and 17 – his sixth and 11th holes of the day – but made two bogeys coming in and finished tied for 14th at 70-74-72=216.
 
Patrick Poate played the course at 7-over-par 223 to rank 44th and Chris Ayers was a shot back at 224. Carlos Marrero shot a 227.
 
UWF will compete at the Bobcat Invitational in Eatonton, Georgia on Monday and Tuesday, before hosting the Argonaut Invitational at Pensacola Country Club on April 4-5.
