BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UWF baseball rookie Brady Browning was named the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Browning hit .500 with four hits, three doubles, four runs batted and scored three runs in UWF's 3-game series against Embry-Riddle over the weekend. He also slugged .875, had an on-base percentage of .636, walked three times and put down two sacrifice bunts.
 
In Saturday's opening game, he went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, along with a two runs. In the second game, he drew a pair of walks before going off in Sunday's contest, hitting 2-for-4 with two more doubles, a walk and a game-high three RBI.
 
For the season, the Madison, Florida product is hitting .400 with a .700 slugging pct. and a .571 on-base pct.
 
This is the second-consecutive week an Argonaut has won the award following Jadon Fryman's honor last Tuesday.
 
UWF is 14-9 overall and will face Wisconsin-Whitewater on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at Blue Wahoos Stadium in downtown Pensacola. Tickets are $10 and with the Blue Wahoos transition to online tickets, fans must purchase them online at GoArgos.com/wahoos.
