LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The seventh-ranked UWF men's golf team maintained its top-5 standing after 36 holes of play in the Las Vegas Desert Classic at The Legacy Golf Club on Monday.
Scoring was nearly three shots higher on average across the 96-play field on Monday. UWF is at 587 overall with rounds of 285 and 302.
Elias Haavisto and
Cameron Bonner are both tied for fifth at even par 144. Bonner shot hiis second-consecutive even par 72, while Haavisto posted a 2-over-par 74.
Chris Ayers is tied for 31st at 149 and
Jake DeZoort is a shot back at 150.
Patrick Poate is tied for 61st at 148.
Tournament-host Missouri-St. Louis increased its lead to five strokes over the field. St. Mary's (Texas) moved up a spot into second at 584. Oklahoma Christian shared the low round of the day at 7-over-par 295 and is in third at 586, one shot ahead of the Argos.
UWF, 20th-ranked Florida Southern and 10th-ranked Central Missouri will be paired together Tuesday's final round and begin on holes 4-6 in the 8 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (10 a.m. CST) shotgun start.
