UWF Turns In Top 5 Finish at Hurricane Invitational

Three Argonauts finished in the top 15 individually

ALBANY, Ga. - UWF used a final round 288 to move into the top five at the Hurricane Invitaitonal on Tuesday. The Argonauts had an 881 total as they produced the second-lowest final round among the 15 teams at Doublegate Country Club.

UWF rebounded from opening day scored os 296 and 297 for its second fifth place showing in three fall events.

Graduate student Nico Lang and sophomores Max Page and Eddie Lee all finished in the top 15 for the Argos. Lang tied for ninth with a 72-75-71=218 score, moving his season stroke average to 71.89. Page tied for 15th with a 220 total, using the low round of the tourney among Argo players at 2-under-par 70 on Tuesday. Lee also tied for 15th while competing as an individual, posting rounds of 73-71-76 for his best 54-hole score as an Argo.

Mason Minkel tied for 30th at 74-76-73=223, followed by Jack Burbee at 224 and Cooper Tendick with a 228.

Tournament-host Georgia Southwestern won the event with a 3-over-par 867, with Lee in second at 870.

UWF will return to play next week when they host the Copperhead Championship at the Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida on Monday and Tuesday.
