Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn.- It was a long day of weather delays for the West Florida's men's tennis team. The Argonauts were able to sweep CBU 6-0 on Friday night to improve to 2-1 overall and in conference play.
The match was relocated to indoor courts due to rain delays. From the start, the Argonauts kept the momentum going throughout the whole match. From the top of the lineup,
Santiago Kearney swept his match 6-0, 6-0 from the No. 3 position. The graduate student from Buenos Aires, Argentina is 2-0 in singles on the season.
Facundo Bermejo dominated his match 6-2, 6-3 from the No. 2 position.
Tomas Descarrega won from the No. 1 position against Juan Ycaza 6-3, 6-2.
From the bottom half of the lineup, the Argos won from all three positions.
Joaquin Estevez came out with a win 6-2, 6-2 from the No. 6 position.
Mateo Martinez and
Sebastian Rondon won from the No. 4 and No. 5 positions. Martinez was victorious in his match 6-4, 6-4 while Ekenros dominated his match 6-1, 6-2.
The Argonauts will be back in action for their second match of the weekend in Searcy, Ark. against Harding on Saturday afternoon. The first set is to begin at 1 p.m.
