MONDAY PAIRINGS | LIVE SCORING

PENSACOLA, Fla.
- The No. 3 UWF men's golf team will open the Spring portion of the 2022-23 season in central Florida at the Matlock Collegiate Classic Monday and Tuesday.

The 54-hole event will be hosted by Florida Southern at Lone Palm Golf Club in Lakeland. The course will play at 7,151 yards and a par 72.

UWF will be paired with FSC and No. 2 Barry in Monday's first two rounds. The 15-team field will play a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on both days.

Head coach Steve Fell will send five players and one individual to represent the Argonauts. Elias Haavisto, Patrick Poate, Cameron Bonner, Felipe Garces and Eddie Lee will play as Nos. 1-5, while Nicholas Dimitroff will compete as an individual.

UWF participated in four events in the fall and compiled a 283.75 stroke average with a team title, two runner-ups and a fifth-place finish. The team stroke average is just one shot back of the school-record set by the 2017-18 team.

The Argos have won the Matlock three times, finished as runner-up three times and third place three times. UWF has finished in the top five each of the last eight seasons with titles in 2017 and 2021. Individually, Alejandro Restrepo (2021) and Matthew Galloway (2007 & 2008) have claimed individual medalist honors for the Blue & Green. Haavisto was the runner-up a year ago and two shots off the lead in 2021 with a fifth place finish.
