PENSACOLA, Fla.- The No. 13 West Florida men's tennis will continue their home stretch with four matches this week at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex.
The Argos will face No. 45 Southern Arkansas on Monday, March 20 at 1 p.m. Wednesday's contest will feature a match against No. 6 Columbus State at 1 p.m. West Florida will play another top-ranked opponent No. 5 Ouachita Baptist on Thursday, beginning at 1 p.m.
ABOUT UWF
*West Florida holds a 8-2 record on the year and 3-0 record on their home courts. The Argos are on a two-match win streak as they enter into Monday's contest.
*Three Argos are ranked in the national singles polls with junior
Facundo Bermejo securing the No. 37 spot. Bermejo holds a 6-2 ledger from the No. 2 position.
Tomas Descarrega comes in as the No. 44 player in the nation with a 6-3 record from the top spot.
*Bermejo and Descarrega are one of the top ranked doubles team in the country with a No. 2 ranking. The pair is currently 7-1 overall with a 3-0 record against nationally and regionally ranked opponents.

Mateo Martinez rounds out the last spot with a No. 67 ranking in his first year as an Argonaut. The transfer from Florida State is 5-2 overall in singles.
SCOUTING THE MULERIDERS
*Southern Arkansas brings a 4-6 record into Monday's contest, but they are currently on a two-match win streak.
*The Muleriders are listed No. 45 in the latest ITA National Polls. Graduate student Sander Jans is the only Mulerider to rank in the national singles poll as the No. 11 player in the nation. Jans holds a 9-3 record on the season.
*Jans teams up with freshman Ben Schneider as they are listed nationally at No. 14 in doubles.
*Greg Owens is in his fourth season at the helm of the Southern Arkansas men's and women's tennis programs.
UWF VS. SAU HISTORY
*This will be the first time these two programs have faced off in program history.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
*As one of the top programs in the country, the No. 6 Cougars enter Wednesday's matchup with a 6-1 record and a four-match win streak.
*Junior Pietro Martinetti leads the Cougars with a perfect 4-0 record from the No. 3 and No. 4 position. Martinetti and Javier Ramos team up as the No. 1 pair as they hold a 1-2 record.
*In the fall season, Santiago Perez captured the ITA Cup singles title for his second consecutive year.
*Evan Issacs is entering into his 22
nd season as head coach of the Cougars tennis programs. Last season, the Cougars were named 2022 Peach Belt Conference Tournament Champions.
UWF VS. CSU HISTORY
*The Cougars are on a two-match win streak against the Argos. West Florida holds the 7-2 edge on the series.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
*Top-ranked No. 5 Ouachita Baptist comes into Thursday's contest with a 6-5 record. The Tigers have two nationally-ranked singles players including No. 14 Phil Exner and No. 64 Alex Blanchar.
*Exner and Blanchar team up as one of the best doubles teams in the nation at No. 7. Aaron Osmond and Fernando Docters are ranked No. 24 in doubles for the Tigers.
*This is the first time since 2011 that the Tigers have been ranked in the top-five in the ITA national rankings.Â
UWF VS. OBU HISTORY
*The Argos hold the all-time series record 12-3 against the Tigers. Last season, both teams were ranked in the top-15 and the Argos championed the match, winning 6-1.Â
Up Next: Later this week, the West Florida tennis teams will honor their seniors on Saturday, March 26 with a match against Xavier (La.). The senior festivities will begin before the match at 10 a.m.
