No. 5 Men's Tennis Prepares for GSC Matches on Saturday and Sunday

The Argos will play MC on Saturday and AUM on Sunday

PENSACOLA, Fla.- The No. 5 West Florida men's tennis team will wrap up their final home match of the season with a Gulf South Conference match against No. 30 Mississippi College on Saturday. The Argos will be on the road on Sunday, April 2 to face No. 23 AUM.

Saturday's contest will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex. Sunday's contest will start at 1:00 p.m.

ABOUT UWF
*The Argos moved up to No. 5 in the ITA national rankings and hold a 12-2 overall record. UWF is undefeated 7-0 on their home courts this season.
*On the men's side, West Florida (5-1 GSC) sits as the No. 3 team in the GSC standings behind Auburn Montgomery.
*Facundo Bermejo leads the Argos as the No. 20 player in the nation. Bermejo is 9-3 on the season with wins last week against three nationally ranked opponents.
*Tomas Descarrega has continued to dominate on the courts as the No. 40 player in the ITA singles rankings. Descarrega holds an 8-4 record from the top spot for the Argos.
*Bermejo and Descarrega team up as the No. 1 doubles team and are top-ranked in the ITA doubles rankings as the No. 2 team. The pair is 11-1 on the season from the No. 1 position.
*Transfer Mateo Martinez comes into Saturday's contest as the No. 63 player with an 8-2 singles record.
*Sebastian Rondon earned GSC freshman of the week after he went undefeated against four nationally-ranked opponents in singles. The Hollywood, Fla. native is 11-1 on the season in singles.

SCOUTING THE CHOCTAWS
*The No. 30 Choctaws enter Saturday's matchup with a 10-4 overall record and 4-1 GSC record on the year. MC is seated fourth in the GSC standings behind West Florida.
*In singles, Rafael Sabio is ranked No. 52 in the ITA national singles ranking. He has a 9-5 record majority from the No. 2 position.
*Sabio teams up with Felipe Iser as the No. 25 doubles team in the nation. The pair is 9-4 from the No. 1 position for the Choctaws.
*Antione Nivault holds a 9-3 singles record from throughout the lineup.

UWF VS. MC HISTORY
*The Argos have an eleven-match win streak over the Choctaws. In their last matchup, UWF defeated MC 4-0 to advance to the GSC Tournament Semifinals last April.

SCOUTING THE WARHAWKS
*AUM is ranked No. 23 in the latest ITA national poll with a 12-5 record and perfect 5-0 conference record.
*The Warhawks are on a three-match win streak with wins over No. 5 West Alabama, Delta State, and No. 30 Mississippi College.
*Titouan Le Maout leads the Warhawks with thirteen singles wins this season and only two losses. Muhamad Bedwan has been another key asset for the Warhawks with an 11-4 singles record.
*Bedwan and his teammate Giuseppe Bonaiuti are 7-3 as the No. 1 doubles team for the Warhawks.

UWF VS. AUM HISTORY
*West Florida holds the all-time series record 10-5. In their last match, the Argos swept the Warhawks 7-0 with strong performances throughout the lineup.
