PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The University of West Florida baseball team will play their final regular season conference home series this Friday and Saturday at Jim Spooner Field

Contests against West Alabama will begin Friday, April 21 at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Saturday doubleheader at 1:00 p.m.

The university is hosting UWF's Day of Play on Saturday as a part of UWF Founders Week. Admission will be free, along with shaved ice from BAM! Snoballs, and shirts while supplies last.

Military Appreciation Day will also be on Saturday, and we will be recognizing UWF's six seniors.

Last Weekend Recap Against AUM
UWF swept AUM in a three-game conference series and is tied for first in the GSC standings.

The Argos were outhit 6-2 in game one on Friday, but still took the win 4-3 off sacrifice hits.
Dalton Neuschwander got the win and remains undefeated at 7-0.

In game two,
Mike Scordo hit a two-run homer to uplift the team to a 3-0 win.
Jackson Grabsky got the final RBI that allowed
Darrien McDowell to score the insurance run.
Kade Manderscheid pitched his fourth complete game of the season and improved to 6-1.

True Fontenot led the series finale game. He went 2-for-3 and finished with a season high, three RBI. The Argos were down 3-0 but knocked out six runs on seven hits in the fifth inning to take the lead and come out victorious, 8-6.

Scouting West Alabama Tigers
The Tigers are 18-22 with a 12-12 conference record. Three players are hitting .300 and above and the group is led by sophomore, Blake Vineyard and he also had the third most hits on the team. Infielder Michael Rich leads with hits (49), followed by Jake Nemith who totals 45.

Starting pitcher Jacob Smith is 6-3 and has pitched five complete games. He has an ERA of 3.56 and holds his opponents to a .227 batting average. In 60.2 innings pitched, he has thrown 88 strikeouts and has allowed 34 runs scored. Bryant Quimby is 2-2 in 11 appearances on the mound. He has pitched 53 innings and totals 32 strikeouts.
