Sebastian Rondon won his first GSC Player of the Week award this season and the fifth weekly award of his career as he claimed crucial results to the No. 1 Argos' 4-3 victory over No. 23 Mississippi College.
The junior from Hollywood, Fla., lived up to his team's and his own rankings. Ranked No. 3 in the ITA DII Doubles Rankings, he and
Diego Duran drew UWF even in doubles with a 6-1 victory over Florian Walcher and Gustavo Tedesco at the top of the lineup, setting the stage for the Argos to go up 1-0. Now ranked No. 11 in DII in singles, he then easily dispatched Walcher on court two 6-1, 6-2.
After the win over the fourth-seeded Choctaws, the Argos are on the road today to take on fifth-seeded Auburn Montgomery at 1 pm.
