PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida men's and women's tennis teams were well-represented in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) South Regional Rankings, with multiple Argonauts appearing among the region's top singles and doubles players.
On the men's side,
Diego Duran earned the No. 2 singles ranking, followed by
Rafael Sabio at No. 8 and
Sebastian Rondon at No. 17. Duran and Rondon also claimed the No. 1 doubles ranking in the nation after capturing the ITA Cup National Championship in October.
For the women,
Carlota Verdu ranked No. 3 in singles, while
Guadalupe Martinez and Aline Midori came in at Nos. 13 and 19, respectively. In doubles, Verdu and
Sandra Recuenco secured the No. 4 spot in the South Region.
The Argonaut men will return to action on February 13 at the ITA Indoor Team Nationals, while the women open their spring slate on February 7 at South Alabama.
