Five Argos Earn All-GSC Honors, Two Place on First Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Gulf South Conference announced the 2025 All-GSC selections for men's tennis on Wednesday night. A conference-best five Argos make the list, as the four players on the team who played for UWF last season make the list for at least a second straight year.

Miguel Cabrera has earned all-conference honors for the first time in his college career, as the graduate transfer from UT Arlington out of Santiago, Chile, has stepped right in at the top line of singles and helped lead the Argos to the No. 1 spot in the ITA rankings and a 21-1 regular season. Sitting at No. 7 in the ITA DII National Singles Rankings, he owns a 14-3 record, notching wins in matches against eight ranked opponents, with his only losses coming to three top-five players: No. 1 Phil Exner of Ouachita Baptist, No. 2 Takeshi Taco of Valdosta State and No. 4 Alex Benichou Blanchard of Mississippi College, just named GSC Player of the Year for a second straight season. Cabrera is also 8-12 in doubles play but 5-2 in GSC play with partners Bernardo Costa, Albin Ekenros and Denilso Martinez.

Sebastian Rondon earns All-GSC honors for the third time in as many collegiate seasons, and First Team honors for the second year in a row.
