UWF 1, Saint Leo 8 – NCAA DII South Regional

UWF started off the game getting out of a bases loaded jam thanks to a tough lineout by Emma Brice at third base. The Argos started out with a Guerriero leadoff hit in the bottom of the inning, and a Moon RBI to score her.

The Lions tied up the game in the second with a few hits and an error. UWF forced them to leave two on base. The Argos went down in order to end the inning. The Lions took over in the third, scoring two more runs on four singles. Harper subbed in for a starting Haley Guffey and got the Argos out of the inning only down two.

Both teams went in order from then until the top of the fifth when the Lions got a runner on due to a fielding error. The Argos held them again but went 1-2-3 in the fifth still down 1-3.

The game began to slip away from UWF in the sixth when a couple singles and an a couple errors scored two more for the Lions. A two-out pinch-hit 2-RBI home run made it 7-1 and put the Argos in a dire situation. The Argos managed only a single hit from Olivia Keith  in the sixth.
