HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The Argos were consistent with scores from the first round as the team ended up with the same score of one over par in the second round of the NCAA DII South/Southeast Regional.
UWF is in sixth place heading into the final round at +2. They are one shot behind the fifth-place team, Lincoln Memorial. The top seven teams from the region will advance to the National Championships.
Cooper Tendick and
TJ Thompson both finished under par for the day. Tendick led with a 70 (-2) and is one-under for the tournament. The junior posted three back nine birdies. Thompson shot 71 (-1) and is two under for the tournament. Thompson is tied for 12th individually and Tendick is tied for 17th.
Per Ekelund had rebounded from a slow first round and was two-under par heading into the 18th hole but an eight on the final hole pushed the sophomore to two-over for the day.
Fabian Wennerlof posted back-to-back birdies on No. 16 and 17 and finished with a 74 (+2).
Eddie Lee shot a 76 (+4) and is +5 over the two rounds.
Tomorrow's final round is scheduled to be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. with pairings for four due to a handful of teams not finishing the round today because of poor weather. Those teams will begin play at 7 a.m. to finish second round action. When those groups are finished the final round will begin with the shotgun start.
