DANVILLE, Ala. – UWF men's cross country showed out at the Firehawk Invitational this weekend, hosted by Tennessee Southern.
The Argos placed third as a team out of 14 teams, with five runners finishing in the top 30 and three in the top 15.
"We wanted to set the tone of what we've established. We worked together in groups, and it paid off in several aspects. Wanted our fourth and fifth a little closer so things to improve on, but proud of the way we ran." head coach
Caleb Carmichael said.
Carson King was the top finisher for the UWF men for the third straight race and finished third out of 109 competitors with a 25:43.39 time, marking a new personal record.
Grant Chastain ran a season best 25:54.7 time to place fourth overall shortly after.
Xander McLaughlin finished 11
th overall with a 27:54.5 time.
Parker Hicks finished 22
nd overall with a 26:46.6 time.
Preston Cooper was the final UWF runner inside the top 30 with a 27:23.33 time to place right at 30
th.
The final finishers for the Argos were
Nathan Deboutez who placed 32
nd overall with a time of 27:33.18
Parker Nunley completed the race for the Argos in Danville with a 28::37.41 time to place 56
th.
