PENSACOLA, Fla. – The UWF men's golf team claimed four Gulf South All-Conference selections and head coach
Steve Fell was named the GSC Coach of the Year.
Fell earned the top conference coach award for the 21st time in his decorated career. Fell led the Argos to six tournament victories this season and now has 105 tournament wins in his time at UWF.
Making First Team All-GSC was
Cooper Tendick,
Per Ekelund and
TJ Thompson. Receiving Second Team honors was
Max Page.
Tendick is a three-time All-Conference recipient including First Team last season and Second Team in 2023. The senior was also the GSC Golfer of the Year in 2024. This season Tendick has had four top-3 finishes and is the No. 7 ranked golfer in the nation.
Ekelund has been a First Team All-Conference member for all three seasons at UWF and was the GSC Freshman of the Year in 2024. This season Ekelund has two top-3 tournament finishes including a win at the Copperhead Championship.
Thompson was a First Team recipient last year and has three top-5 finishes this season. He's currently the No. 26 ranked golfer in DII.
Page earned his first conference award as a Second-Team selection. Page has played in 29 rounds this season posting a 71.4 scoring average and is ranked No. 54 in the country.
The No. 1 Argos are headed to Valdosta, Ga for the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional on Thursday, May 7.
