MARSHALL, Minn. – Micky Scheetz and
Zack Stokes earned their second All-American honors on the year with the announcement of the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-America baseball team on Thursday.
Scheetz earns CCA All-America First Team honors after anchoring the back end of the UWF bullpen throughout the season. The senior left-hander appeared in 31 games, posting a 3-2 record with a 1.53 ERA and 16 saves across 47 innings pitched. Scheetz led all of NCAA Division II in saves. He was awarded NCBWA All-America First Team, ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-South Region, D2CCA All-South Region First Team, NCBWA All-South Region First Team, and All-GSC First Team honors.
Stokes was named to the CCA All-America Second Team after he capped off an elite offensive season by leading the Argonauts in batting average, hits, runs, doubles, home runs, total bases, walks, slugging percentage and on-base percentage. The outfielder started all 59 games for UWF, batting .447 with 97 hits, 76 runs, 25 doubles, 14 home runs, 45 RBI, 164 total bases, a .756 slugging percentage and a .552 on-base percentage. He adds to his incredibly decorated resume which also includes NCBWA All-American second team, ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-South Region, ABCA/Rawlings South Region Position Player of the Year, NCBWA South Region Player of the Year, NCBWA All-South Region First team, D2CCA All-South Region Player of the Year, D2CCA All-South Region First Team, Gulf South Conference Player of the Year, and All-GSC First Team honors.
