No. 1 West Florida men's tennis defeats No. 13 Rollins 7-2

UWF men’s tennis remains undefeated on the year with regional win over Rollins College

RESULTS

VALDOSTA, Ga. –
The No. 1-ranked University of West Florida men's tennis team defeated No. 13 Rollins 7-2 on the campus of Valdosta State University on Saturday afternoon. West Florida (4-0, 1-0 GSC) remains undefeated on the year and extends winning streak to 33.
 
Junior Warren Kuhn (Johannesburg, South Africa) and senior Elio Latella (Sydney, Australia) defeated the No. 19-ranked doubles team of Anton Bettink and Adrian Di Felice 9-8 at number one doubles.
 
Junior Kenny Brasil (Apucarana, Brazil) and sophomore Alex Peyrot (Castelnaudary, France) won 8-3 at number two doubles while junior Pablo Borrero (Pereira, Colombia) and sophomore Pablo Tellez (Bogota, Columbia/Colegio) lost at number three doubles by a score of 3-8.
 
No. 8 Peyrot fell to No. 10 Bettink 3-6, 6-3, 0-4 (ret) at number one singles while Kuhn won at number two singles 6-1, 6-4.
 
No. 30 Brasil defeated No. 38 Robin Marchione 6-4, 6-2 at number three singles while Borrero won at number four singles by a score of 6-0, 7-5.
 
Latella won at number five singles 6-1, 6-3 while sophomore Douglas Boe (Vinhedo, Brazil) won 6-3, 6-3 at number six singles.
 
West Florida will next face No. 3 Barry on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. ET and No. 10 Valdosta State on Sunday, March 1 at 10 a.m. ET in Valdosta, Georgia.
