No. 2 West Florida men's tennis defeats No. 6 Concordia (N.Y.) 6-3

Argonauts improve to 9-2 on the year against nationally ranked opponents

RESULTS
 
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The No. 2-ranked University of West Florida men's tennis team defeated No. 6 Concordia (N.Y.) 6-3 at home on Thursday at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex. West Florida (19-2, 8-0 GSC) improves to 9-2 against nationally ranked opponents en route to the teams 10th home win of the season.
 
West Florida's No. 1-ranked doubles team of junior Warren Kuhn (Johannesburg, South Africa) and senior Elio Latella (Sydney, Australia) defeated Concordia's No. 4-ranked doubles team of Ofir Ginat and Jui Mao 8-5 at number one doubles. Kuhn and Latella improve to 3-2 against nationally ranked opponents with the win.
 
Junior Kenny Brasil (Apucarana, Brazil) and sophomore Alex Peyrot (Castelnaudary, France) won at number two doubles 9-8 and improve to 5-0 against regionally ranked opponents en route to the duo's fifth straight win. Junior Pablo Borrero (Pereira, Colombia) and sophomore Pablo Tellez (Bogota, Columbia/Colegio) won 8-6 at number three doubles to improve to 2-0 against regionally ranked opponents.

No. 25 Kuhn fell to No. 20 Mao at number one singles 2-6, 7-6, 5-10 while No. 9. Peyrot defeated No. 14 Juuso Ojanen at number two singles 7-5, 6-0 to improve to 3-2 against nationally ranked opponents.
 
No. 31 Brasil won at number three singles 6-2, 6-3 and improves to 4-3 against regionally ranked opponents while Latella fell to No. 37 Benas Majauskas at number four singles 5-7, 6-7.
 
Junior Juan Pablo Boada (La Paz, Bolivia) fell at number five singles 4-6, 3-6 while sophomore Douglas Boe (Vinhedo, Brazil) won at number six singles 6-0, 6-2 and improves to 2-1 against regionally ranked opponents.
 
West Florida will next face Mississippi College on Saturday, April 4 at 9 a.m. CT before facing Georgia Gwinnett at 3 p.m. CT later that day. The Argonauts will wrap up the regular season at home on Saturday, April 11 by facing NAIA opponent Xavier (La.) at 10 a.m. CT.
