WBCA Press Release
NEW YORK – University of West Florida women's basketball head coach
Stephanie Lawrence Yelton was one of 36 NCAA head coaches from across the country selected to participate in The Center for Coaching Excellence last month.
Established in 2011, The CCE is a two-and-half-day, invitation-only intensive leadership training program hosted by Columbia University designed to provide women's basketball coaches with comprehensive leadership development and safeguard the integrity of the sport.
"Spending time in such an intensive workshop was an incredible experience," Yelton said. "Attending the CCE has helped me to become a better leader of my basketball program. In return it will pay off when our players arrive on campus this fall."
This exclusive program provides coaches the chance to learn through interactive and collaborative group sessions facilitated by Dr. Cathie T. Siders, a clinical psychologist, organizational consultant and executive coach.
The program also gives coaches the opportunity to interact with college athletic professionals through panel discussions and lectures. The CCE was presented by the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association in partnership with Columbia University Athletics.
