September 15, 2015FINAL TEAM/INDIVIDUAL RESULTSSOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – The University of West Florida women's golf team finished third in its first tournament of the season, the Ross Resorts Invitational at Mid Pines hosted by Rollins College. The Argos combined to shoot a +23 on the final day of the tournament, giving the team a total score of +73 against par.
Paloma Vaccaro (Asuncion, Paraguay/Colegio Lumen) was the high finisher for UWF, posting a +10 over the three-round tournament. Vaccaro's 72 in the third round was the best individual round of the day, and it was just the second round of even par that was shot during the two-day event. Vaccaro's final round helped her shoot four spots up the leaderboard and finish just one shot behind Hally Leadbetter of Rollins College.

Elin Olsson (Mantorp, Sweden/Bildningscentrum Facetten) also posted a top-five finish, shooting a +13 overall and carding a final-round 75 to move into a tie for fifth place. Following Olsson was
Lauren Lamm (Punta Gorda, Fla./Daytona State), who finished tied for 41
st after shooting an 82 in the final round and carding a +27 overall.
Fabiana Salazar finished one shot behind Lamm overall, as she posted a final-round 82 and a total score of +28, good for a tie in 44
th place.
Lily Kent (Bury St Edmunds, England/Thurston Community College HS) shot an 83 in the third round, finishing +32 in the tournament and placing tied for 54
th.
UWF finished behind tournament host Rollins College (+55) and Barry University (+71). Nova Southeastern University and Lynn University placed just behind the Argos, and posted a +77 to finish tied for fourth. West Florida recorded three top-three team finishes last year, including a victory at the Gulf South Conference Championships last April.
UWF will head to Commonground Golf Course in Aurora, Colorado, for the NCAA Women's Golf Preview on September 28 and 29.
