UWF Opens NCAA Play Against Lynn On Sunday

Argonauts defeated the Fighting Knights once earlier this season

SAINT LEO, Fla.
– The UWF men's tennis team will open play at the NCAA South I Regional against Lynn on Sunday afternoon. The match is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. Eastern time at the Saint Leo Tennis Center.
 
UWF (18-6) is the No. 4 seed while Lynn (16-7) is the No. 5 seed. The winner will face the winner of No. 1 ranked Saint Leo (22-1) and Benedict (15-8) on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
 
The Argonauts are ranked sixth nationally and coming off the Gulf South Conference tournament where they fell to No. 8 Valdosta State, 5-4, in the championship match.
 
UWF has faced Lynn once this season, claiming a 6-3 neutral-site win on Feb. 27 in Valdosta, Georgia. The Argos also played Saint Leo once, dropping a 7-2 decision on the Lions' home courts on March 15.
 
UWF is making its 20th-consecuitve NCAA appearance, which includes national championships in 2004, 2005 and 2014.
 
The winners of the regional tournaments will advance to the NCAA DII Tennis Championships in Denver, Colorado, May 18-21.
