LAKELAND, Fla. – The University of West Florida women's cross country season came to a close on Saturday morning at the NCAA South Regional Championship at Holloway Park in Lakeland. West Florida finished 16th in the 6K among teams from the Gulf South and Sunshine State conferences.
 
Valeria Villatoro finished first for UWF, as she did in each race this season, running a 24:38.35 in her first 6K of the year. Freshmen Leah Fenton and Alyssa Langston followed Villatoro, running in 25:31.83 and 25:37.27, respectively.
 
Myra Tubb placed fourth for the Argonauts with a 26:42.77,  Brianna Basford ran a 27:26.37, and senior Rebekah Lapp clocked a 28:29.17 in her final collegiate race.
