PENSACOLA, Fla. –The UWF men's tennis team is on their way to The Golden State of California to compete against some tough competitors. The Argos will be playing in San Diego, California hosted by UC San Diego at the Northview Tennis Courts. The The No. 4 Argos will be facing No. 16 Hawaii Pacific and UC San Diego over the weekend.
The No.4 UWF Men's team will enter the weekend undefeated in the season 6-0, 5-0. The Argos will start off the weekend on Saturday, March 9 in the morning at 11:00 am CT against No. 16 Hawaii Pacific. The next day, they will face UC San Diego at 11:00 am CT.
Hawaii Pacific is nationally ranked No. 16 going into the weekend and have a record of 5-0 after facing UCSD yesterday and winning 4-0. HPU has one singles player, Valentin Masse who is ranked nationally at No. 31.
On Sunday, the men will play against UCSD, the host school for these matches. The Tritons are 4-7 overall this season so far and have been playing tough competition.
UWF's Men's Tennis team has one doubles team that is currently nationally ranked which consists of Serdar Bojadjiev and Lucas Sanchez as they sit at No.9 in the Oracle/ITA Division II Men's National Doubles Rankings and No. 2 in the regional rankings. In singles, Bojadjiev is No.8 nationally, No. 4 regionally and Juan Motta is No.34 nationally and No.9 regionally. Singles player Robin Rafaitin is also regionally ranked No. 18. The team is nationally ranked No. 4 and No. 3 in the region.
