Former Argonaut Standout Marvin Jones Signs With KB Rahoveci

Begins Third Year Playing Overseas

PENSACOLA, Fla.- KB Rahevoci of the Superliga (Kosovo) has agreed to terms with former Argonaut Marvin Jones, it was announced by the club.

Jones, who starred for UWF from 2016-2018, joins the team after spending the past season playing for fellow Superliga team, Goga, as he led the team to the second-best regular season record in the league and helped them win the postseason cup.  Earlier in the 2019 season, he played for Malta in the U.S exposure Summer Basket League scoring 14 points per game, collecting three rebounds and adding one assist per match-up.

"We're excited for Marvin to continue his pro career, UWF Head Coach Jeff Burkhamer said.  It shows his hard work and it is great to see a terrific kid continue his dream of playing pro basketball."

During his time with the Argos, Jones was a three-point specialist.  He holds several spots in the Argonaut record book including; tying for fifth in career three-point field goals (109), third in career three-point percentage (.410), tied for 10th in three-pointers made in a season (57), and seventh in three-point percentage for a season (.432).

The native of Decatur, Georgia, started all 51 games he played in at UWF, averaging almost 13 points per game.  In his two seasons with the squad, the Argonauts also enjoyed their greatest team success as they went 28-4, capturing the Gulf South Conference Tournament Title and advancing to their first-ever NCAA Tournament Appearance before falling in the second round.

KB Rahevoci is a professional basketball club located in Kosovo.  Rahevoci has been playing since 1976 and was promoted to the Superleague in the 2016-2017 season when they finished sixth in the league table.  Since then, the team has gone on to be the runner-up in the Kosovo Basketball Superleague in 2018-2019 and recently qualified for the 2019-2020 FIBA Europe Cup.

Jones looks to continue the recent tradition of winning at Rahevoci as he said, "I'm excited to compete and show the work I've put in during this downtime in quarantine."
