UWF Volleyball Ranked First in Initial South Regional Rankings

Argonauts currently sit ahead of Nova Southeastern and Tampa who are second and third

INDIANAPOLIS, IN. – In the first NCAA Regional Rankings of the season, the University of West Florida Volleyball team comes in ranked No. 1 in the South Region topping schools from the Gulf South Conference, Sunshine State Conference, as well as the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

With a record of 28-1 overall including 23-0 mark in South Region play, the No. 7 nationally ranked Argonauts are currently the only team unbeaten in the region and hold the highest nation record out of any team in-region as well.

West Florida was one of just two Gulf South Conference teams in this first week of regional rankings with Alabama Huntsville coming in at fourth in the initial rankings. The top eight of the South Region as it stands now includes, West Florida (1), Nova Southeastern (2), Tampa (3), Alabama Huntsville (4), Embry-Riddle (5), Lynn (6), Florida Southern (7), and Eckerd (8).

The Argonauts now have three more road matches over the next two weeks before postseason play begins on Nov. 19 with the GSC Tournament.
