MONDAY RESULTS

MCCORMICK, S.C.
 – The UWF women's golf team shot a 313 in the first round of the Savannah Lakes Invitational at the Monticello Course at Savannah Lakes Monday.

The Argonauts are in 14th place at the midway point of the 36-hole event.

UWF was led by freshman Alia Scotka, who fired a 3-over-par 75 to find herself in 25th place. The Niceville, Florida native had two birdies and five bogeys as she posted her third-consecutive round in the 70s.

Sophomore Payton Pacheco led the Argos with three birdies on her way to a 79. Junior Ronja Taipale had a matching score as she played the final six holes at even par. Junior Solange Gomez and freshman Alegria Lopez each shot 80.

"We are really close to scoring well as a team," UWF head coach Kristen Dorsey said. "Alia's game is very solid and today, she exuded confidence over every shot."

Limestone leads the 19-team field with a 3-under-par 285. Columbus State is four shots back and Lee is in third at 295.

UWF will be grouped with Shorter and Belmont Abbey in Tuesday's final round. The teams will start off No. 10 at 10:04 a.m. Eastern Time.
